Large Louvre Shutter

What are Plantation Shutters?

Plantation shutters, sometimes called Colonial Blinds or Shutters are made to measure wooden blinds that sit inside their own frame which is then drilled and fixed to your windowsill or doorframe.

They typically have adjustable slats – sometimes referred to as louvres – that can be tilted from fully closed to fully open and angled anywhere in between, allowing you to control light, privacy and airflow through the room. They also come in solid form (without slats) similar to the shutters you see on the windows of period properties – the difference being that plantation shutters can suit any era home and interior decor style with a huge range of options from the size of louvre, the way they are controlled, the material they are made from and of course the colour.

We can colour match any Farrow & Ball or Dulux Trade colour or there are a variety of wood finishes to choose from.

Solid Plantation Shutter

Unique and Quality

No other window dressing gives you such flexible light and privacy control as well as being just about the easiest window dressing to keep clean. (No dry cleaning bills here!)

There is no MDF in any of our shutters, they are all constructed from solid wood, or for humid environments like shower rooms we can have them made in a Polyeurothane with an aluminium core which makes them extremely durable in a harsh environment. Our shutters possess a number of unique design features and are hand crafted to an exceptionally high standard.

As with all our projects our service, from initial consultation and measure to installation is second to none and can make a very welcome underline to one of our projects as it reaches completion.

Of course if you have never used us for anything in the past feel free to contact us for a meeting. There’s no obligation.
